Who is involved in the move?
Volume measures how much was traded in a period. On stocks, volume is actual shares. On forex CFDs, platforms often show tick volume (number of price changes) as a participation proxy — not identical to exchange volume but still useful relatively.
Simple interpretations
- Rising price + rising volume — move may have stronger participation.
- Rising price + falling volume — move may be weakening (verify with structure).
- Breakout with strong volume — more traders accepting new prices.
Always compare volume relative to recent bars on the same instrument and timeframe.
