Indicators vs Price Action

Learn Indicators vs Price Action — part of our Technical Indicators series on Trading Bite. Free trading education for Pakistan, India & Gulf traders. Educational use only; not financial advice.

Indicators support — they do not replace — the chart

In Module 3 you learned support, resistance, and trends from raw price. Indicators are mathematical transforms of price (or volume) plotted below or on the chart. They summarise what already happened — they do not predict the future with certainty.

Healthy use

  • Confirm trend direction you already see on higher timeframes.
  • Filter setups that conflict with momentum (e.g. RSI divergence as a warning, not a signal alone).
  • Keep charts clean — two to three tools maximum while learning.
Price (primary) Indicator (lagging summary below)
Never enter a trade only because an indicator turned green or crossed a line. Context from structure + risk plan (Module 4) comes first.
